Minimizing our environmental impact
Every year we try to use the Earth’s resources as efficiently as possible to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment. As part of this ongoing commitment, we review the latest technologies and processes to see if any new opportunities have emerged that might help us reduce our impact. We look at novel ideas to improve the sustainability of our products and how we can help our customers respond to environmental challenges through innovation and superior product performance.
Measuring our environmental impact
As a responsible business we have been monitoring and publicly reporting on our environmental impact since 2006, providing annual data across the four key areas of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy use, water use and hazardous waste generation. Prior to 2023, our scope 1 and 2 data, related only to our manufacturing operations. As we further advance our data collection methodology, in 2023, we extended the scope of our energy reporting coverage to also include our non-manufacturing locations and company owned transport. In line with best practice, we have reset our baseline reporting year to 2014 to better reflect our operations today. This new data and adjusted baseline have led to a change in trends previously reported. However, the data now provides a more accurate understanding of the carbon footprint of our company, helping us to identify and target areas for improvement.

Renewable Electricity
Continue our commitment to procure renewable electricity while exploring opportunities to use physical sources of renewable energy at our manufacturing sites.
Scope 1 Emissions
Achieve an interim objective of a 10% reduction in scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing sites, based on a 2020 baseline, by the end of 2030.
