This Monday was the World Day for Health and Safety at Work, marking an excellent opportunity for all organizations to reflect on their ongoing commitment to improving health and safety in the workplace. At Innospec, health and safety isn’t just a priority, it’s a core value. Through our global Journey to Zero Harm program, our teams continually strive to create a safer working environment for everyone.

In 2024 alone, our sites completed over 12,500 safety interactions and over 147,000 60-second personal risk assessment checks, helping to achieve a 24% reduction in our group employee accident rate per 100,000 hours. This is a testament to our commitment to proactive safety measures.

At Innospec, we’re committed to developing future talent by providing valuable placement opportunities for students looking to gain real-world experience.

Tisha Jethwa started her year-long placement in 2024 with the Personal Care Research and Development team. She has since gained a wealth of experience in both lab and office environments, with a particular focus on testing the rinsibility of surfactants and has used this knowledge in practice to develop formulations for shampoos, body pastes, and shower creams. Beyond practical and technical knowledge, she has also developed soft skills by building confidence in presenting to senior management and communicating with our global team.

This milestone means zero associated Scope 2 emissions and marks a major step forward in our decarbonization strategy.
