United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Aligning ourselves with positive global change

The United Nations adopted its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, addressing some of the world’s most significant economic, social and environmental challenges. Underpinning these goals are 169 associated indicators designed to support their implementation and monitor progress. We recognize that the private sector plays a critical role in achieving these goals and support their implementation as a framework for sustainable business practices.

Our assessment shows that we directly contribute to 14 SDGs. Of these we have identified five which are most closely aligned to our activities. These are:

  • SDG 4: Quality Education
  • SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 15: Life on Land

The SDGs have been used to guide our materiality assessment and the evolution of our sustainability strategy. We review them each year to determine if we can increase our contribution.
