The Military Heroes Program
Through the Military Heroes Program, the PenFed Foundation provides high impact grants that celebrate the leadership and selfless service of military members and support the transition from service to civilian life. When there is a gap, they step in to make sure the individual and collective needs of service members and their families are being met. They do this by forming partnerships with non-profit organizations working within military communities and providing them with the financial assistance needed to conduct their important work.
Annual Golf Fundraisers
Innospec’s Fuel Specialties and Oilfield Services businesses have been dedicated supporters of the PenFed Foundation’s Military Heroes Program in the United States for 18 years. One of the key initiatives that Innospec spearheads is the annual golf fundraisers. These highly anticipated events attract hundreds of golfers, including employees, customers, and suppliers. This raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the PenFed Foundation each year. In 2024, a total of over $225,000 was raised through the 2 events held at the Palmer Course in The Woodlands, Texas, and Lone Tree Golf Club in Colorado.
A Personal Commitment
Innospec’s President and CEO, Patrick S. Williams, expresses his personal commitment to supporting the PenFed Foundation through these charity golf tournaments. He states, “It’s a privilege for us to support the PenFed Foundation through our charity golf tournaments. Helping our veterans and their families is also a personal commitment for me. We selected PenFed because 95% of donations received go directly to the service members and their families. We look forward to continuing our support.”
Some of the projects we’ve supported:
- Financial Support Grant
- Warriors on the Water
- The PenFed Foundation Summer Day Camp
Warriors on the Water
“It was the first time I had felt appreciated for my service and sacrifices since returning. Not only did it bring me a sense of healing, but it also put me in touch with others that I still call my friends today. Who would have thought that a “fishing trip” would be the first step in my emotional healing process. Kudos to PENFED Foundation and those that arranged for me to attend.”

Rashunda Tippit
After leaving the Army, Rashunda Tippit was attending college and working but lost her second income and needed help while she was job searching. The PenFed Foundation helped Tippit with a grant to cover daycare, rental assistance, groceries, and vehicle costs during this tough time.
“I would like to thank the Pen Fed Foundation for helping my daughter and myself in our time of need. The foundation really helped my family get back on our feet. Words cannot express how much we appreciate what this foundation has done for us.”

The PenFed Foundation Summer Day Camp
‘It means a lot to me as a military spouse that an organization like the PenFed Foundation helps people like me to give my child an opportunity like this. As a military spouse who just moved to a new area with no job or childcare during the summertime, I really just want the best for my child. I want her to enjoy her first summer away from family and get adjusted to new places. It has definitely been hard to cope without family and with my husband being the main source of income. With that being said, this scholarship proves to me and my family that everything will get better as we continue to adjust and enjoy our time here in the Great Place’

Founded in 2001, the PenFed Foundation is a national non-profit organization that supports veterans in their transition from service to success. Affiliated with PenFed Credit Union, the Foundation has provided more than $55 million in financial support to veterans, active-duty service members, and military families. What sets the PenFed Foundation apart is its commitment to ensuring that 95% of incoming donations go directly to their programs, as the credit union funds most operational costs.
