At Innospec, we know that a healthy workforce is a thriving workforce. Weā€™re proud to announce that we have achieved Gold Standard recognition from Cigna Healthcare Healthy Workforce Designation for our commitment to employee well-being and vitality in 2024!

What did it take to earn this recognition? A year filled with impactful initiatives including:
Mental Health Awareness Challenge (May) : 107 employees engaged in daily mindfulness activities and tracked their well-being with wellness journals.
Hydrate for Health Challenge (July) : Promoting the importance of hydration and encouraging this daily habit amongst employees.
Fall Fitness Challenge (September) : Inspiring employees to stay active with exciting prizes for their progress.
Well-being Webinars : Covering essential topics, with a particular focus on managing distress during natural disasters, supporting our American employees affected by last yearā€™s extreme weather events.

Weā€™re proud to support our employees to prioritize both mental and physical health because investing in well-being is investing in a stronger future for all.

Our team in The Woodlands, Texas, recently participated in their first local tree planting project, planting 301 seedlings to help restore habitats and boost biodiversity. By planting a diverse mix of native seedlings, they are supporting a more resilient natural ecosystem. Weā€™re proud of our employees for using their annual volunteering day to create positive, lasting change in their local community.

This yearā€™s International Womenā€™s Day theme, #AccelerateAction, calls for increased progress in addressing gender inequality and acknowledging the resources and activities that positively impact womenā€™s advancement. At Innospec, we are committed to creating opportunities for female employees to excel in an industry that has been historically male dominated. Through comprehensive, personalised training and development, we support our female employees in advancing their careers.

A key initiative launched in 2024 is our Senior Leadership Development Program, designed to equip managers with the skills to lead more effectively. This program brought together 15 participants from three global regions, combining instructor-led sessions with post-training personal coaching for a deeper learning experience.

We are proud to foster an inclusive environment where all employees have the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential.

The end of 2024 marked the 5th anniversary of Action for Sustainable Derivatives (ASD), an industry-led platform uniting companies in the cosmetics, home care, personal care, and oleochemicals sectors to collectively tackle environmental and social supply chain challenges involving palm oil and palm kernel oil derivatives.

Innospec is proud to have been a member of ASD since 2020, collaborating with like-minded organizations to drive meaningful change in the palm industry. One of ASDā€™s key achievements has been to increase transparency in global supply chain mapping, tackling the complexity of a highly fragmented sector with numerous stakeholders. Thanks to the collective efforts of 36 ASD members, as a group we have achieved 95% transparency up to mills, mapping 1.2 million tons of palm-based material.

Weā€™re proud to contribute to this progress and remain committed to driving positive change in the sustainable sourcing of palm.

Weā€™re proud to share that our Senior Toxicology and Risk Assessment Manager, Jay Dawick, is the lead for a recently approved International Collaboration on Cosmetic Safety (ICCS) project that will use case studies to compare consumer and occupational exposure to cosmetic ingredients to determine whether animal testing is justified.

With the increasing adoption of Next Generation Risk Assessments (NGRAs) and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) to eliminate animal testing for consumer safety, this project will explore the application of exposure-led concepts to ensure worker safety, to replace the requirement for animal testing under the EU REACH Regulation. The novel investigations undertaken aim to help identify viable alternative approaches and drive meaningful progress in ethical and effective safety assessments for cosmetic ingredients.

At Innospec, weā€™re committed to working alongside fellow ICCS members to champion innovative, science-driven solutions for a more ethical, safe, and efficient chemical industry. In line with this collaborative spirit, Innospec developed the proposal concept in conjunction with ICCS member toxicologists from Unilever, P&G, Croda, and BASF.
