Lauren Kavanagh, Regulatory Toxicologist, and Emma Bleasdale, Junior Regulatory Toxicologist, attended the British Toxicology Society (BTS) conference in Liverpool in April 2024. Lauren presented a poster on the use of NGRA to avoid animal testing on Finsolv TN.

Next-Generation Risk Assessment (NGRA) is as an exposure-led, hypothesis-driven approach that integrates new approach methodologies(NAMs) to assure safety without animal testing. There are numerous examples in the scientific literature highlighting NGRA for consumer safety of cosmetic ingredients.[1,2] In this specific case study, NGRA was applied in an occupational safety context for an exclusive use cosmetic ingredient (INCI: C12-15Alkyl Benzoate;C12-15AB) to avoid animal testing in accordance with EU REACH.
