Palm-based derivativ

Palm-based derivatives are widely used as versatile ingredients in specialty chemicals due to their unique physical and chemical properties. Ensuring they are sustainably sourced is essential to addressing global concerns around deforestation, biodiversity loss, and human rights.

The Sustainable Palm Index (SPI) provides a transparent benchmark for progress, enabling suppliers like us demonstrate leadership and accountability. We are proud to share our strong performance in the 2025 assessment. Based on our 2024 palm volumes, we achieved a score of 79.7/100, earning Category A supplier status and ranking Innospec in the top 10% of all participating suppliers.

The achievement reflects our commitment to responsible sourcing and continuous improvement across the palm derivatives supply chain to reduce environmental impact and promote ethical practices.

Since its launch in

Since its launch in 2007, our SHE Best Practice group has been a cornerstone of Innospec’s commitment to continual improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance. Bringing together safety and environmental professionals from across our global manufacturing sites and corporate teams, to share insights, learnings, and innovations.

Now in its 19th year, each meeting features a site tour to identify potential hazards, near misses, and examples of best practice, helping us learn from each other and raise standards across the board. At our most recent meeting in October, discussions included process safety management, new PPE standards and the critical role our sites play in delivering our decarbonization strategy.

The SHE Best Practice initiative continues to be a powerful way for our SHE professionals to build relationships, share challenges, and drive continuous improvement across all our operations.

At Innospec, we’re

At Innospec, we’re committed to measuring and minimizing the environmental impact of our products. Our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) assessment provides a ā€˜cradle-to-gate’ analysis of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, from raw material sourcing to manufacturing, right up to when our products leave our facilities.

To ensure our PCF assessments are both accurate and credible, we are proud to share that our Life Cycle Assessment Engineer, Darcy Kelly, has had our methodology independently validated in accordance with PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency) and TfS (Together for Sustainability) standards, based on ISO 14067.

This validation enables us to:
• Provide customers with accurate and reliable PCF data
• Support more informed sustainability decisions
• Drive meaningful emissions reductions across our value chain

This is another step forward in our ongoing commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and sustainability.

At Innospec, we are committed to supporting sustainability in the communities where we operate. That’s why, in 2024, our Ellesmere Port, UK site took a step to help enhance local biodiversity by establishing a dedicated wildflower meadow.

Created with help from the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, the meadow serves as a vital ā€˜biodiversity corridor’ by connecting local green spaces. It gives wildlife a chance to flourish in a region where 99% of wildflower meadows have been lost since 1960.

Fast forward to this October 2025, when our employees rolled up their sleeves for the annual meadow cutting, a key activity that encourages greater species diversity. It wasn’t just about maintenance; it was a chance to learn, connect and work together as a team. Volunteers discovered the crucial role wildflower meadows play in the UK and even identified some rare plant species now thriving in the area.

ā€˜It was so great to see how passionate your employees are about the meadow and woodland that you have on your manufacturing site. It was fantastic to see such a rich variety of wildflowers thriving there.’ Becky Williams, Wild Network Officer, Cheshire Wildlife Trust

We are proud to play our part in helping nature thrive in our local communities.
