Many of our employees are active in their local communities, often providing support and opportunities to the some of the most vulnerable members. Below are a few examples of activities held in 2017.

Employees at our Pencader Laboratory in Newark, US, hosted their first soup kitchen in December 2017. Five teams rotated to provide a four-shift meal service at the local church, ensuring a steady supply of hearty food for those that are struggling.

Our Vernon site in France helped create employment opportunities for local people with disabilities, through the engagement of Blanchisserie A.P.E.E.R, a workwear laundry cleaning company based near the facility. Employees also collected plastic bottles to help fund food for a local association ‘Le panier solidaire Marcellos’, who provide free meals to those suffering from poverty.

Our joint venture fuel additive plant with Petron Freeport Corporation based at Subic Bay in the Philippines helped upgrade a local public school and also took part in the international coastal clean-up day. Our manufacturing site in Herne, Germany, have engaged WeWoLe (Workshop for the Disabled) since 1999 to carry out grounds maintenance and since 2002, for the laundry of workwear. The organization employs physically or mentally handicapped persons, giving them an opportunity to work in the local area.

At Leuna, Germany, the site donated €2000 to ‘Ambulantes Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Halle’ a local children’s hospice to which they donate annually at Christmas time.

Castiglione, Italy, continued their long-standing support of local charity Casa del Sole onlus, through a donation of €2,000. The charity offers medical assistance and educational services to children with psycho-physical and relational issues.
