In 2019, we worked with an independent third party to assess our European electricity suppliers and explore the possibility of sourcing all our manufacturing electricity requirements from renewable sources.
Following a review of international energy providers and sources of renewables, the EMEA Supply Chain team developed a proposal for all European sites to switch to using renewable electricity. The proposal was agreed by the businesses and contracts put in place for all European Manufacturing plants to be supplied by renewable electricity from 1 January 2020. Going forward this is estimated to reduce the overall group Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by approximately 33% per year.
